The life and poetry of Antonia Pozzi. A lecture by Gianni Criveller

On Friday February 28th, Gianni Criveller, Director of PIME Centre in Milan, an Italian author and theologian, will fly to Hong Kong to present his book “L’età delle parole è finita per sempre”? (“Is the Age of Words Over Forever”?) at HKU. The event is in collaboration with Dante Alighieri Society in Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong and the Italian Cultural Institute Hong Kong.

Through a thoughtful selection of poems and letters, Gianni Criveller reconstructs the story of Antonia Pozzi (1912-1938) – one of the most significant voices in twentieth-century Italian poetry. Just like Emily Dickinson, she did not publish during her lifetime. It was thanks to the care and study of other women that Pozzi’s ‘words’ have been returned to us in dull and authentically.
