DESCRIPTION:We are proud to announce that Mr Severgnini will be our honorable guest on Thursday 24 October 2019\, for a sharing session with our students\, members and friends. \nMr Beppe Severgnini is an acclaimed columnist for Italy’s largest newspaper\, Corriere della Sera. A longtime Italian correspondent for the Economist\, he is a frequent contributor to the New York Times. He has written several books about the Italian culture\, language and stereotypes. He has given voice to millions of Italians living abroad through his widely famous blog “Italians”. It is a great opportunity to meet and know better true expert of the Italian spirit\, Italians’ virtues and vices. \nAbout the speaker: \nBeppe Severgnini is a columnist and an editor at Corriere della Sera\, which he joined in 1995. He was the editor-in-chief of its weekly magazine 7\, from 2017 to 2019 and he created the blog Italians in 1998. He became a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times in 2013. His writing has appeared in The Financial Times and The Economist\, where he was the Italy correspondent from 1996 to 2003. \nHe’s the author of 17 books\, including the American bestsellers Ciao\, America! An Italian Discovers the U.S. and La Bella Figura: A Field Guide to the Italian Mind. His most recent books are Italiani si rimane (Solferino\, Milan 2018)\, a memoir\, and Off the Rails – A Train Trip Through Life (Berkley\, New York 2019). \nMr. Severgnini studied law at the University of Pavia. As a foreign correspondent\, he was posted in London\, Moscow and Washington; he also covered Eastern Europe\, China and the Middle East.
