Welcome to Il Salotto di Dante – Bookclub, a reading group organised by Dante Alighieri Society in Hong Kong. The Bookclub meets once a month to explore the best of the Italian literature scene. Each month we pick a different book and share our thoughts in an informal atmosphere.

WHEN? The first Friday of every two months from 6:30 – 8:00 PM.
WHERE? At Dante Alighieri Society Hong Kong. Hong Kong Art Centre, 2 Harbour Road, Wan Chai.
WHO CAN JOIN? Whether you are Italian or learning Italian as a foreign language (B1-C1 suggested), Il Salotto di Dante-bookclub is the place to share your interest in reading and meet new friends. Discussions are held in Italian. Participation is flexible and free.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
In 2025, Dante Alighieri Society in Hong Kong became a Presidio Letterario, an Italian literature promotion centre.
Each Presidio Letterario aims to promote contemporary Italian reading and literature in Italy and around the world. The centres work as a place of aggregation for readers with both in-presence activities and online services.
Thanks to the agreement with the Bellonci Foundation which assigns a collective vote to the Dante Alighieri Society, active readers at the Presidio Letterario can participate in the jury of the most important Italian literary award, Premio Strega.
HIGHLIGHTS
The first Friday of every two months Il Salotto di Dante – Bookclub organises a 90-minute meeting to share ideas on the book already read and present next month’s book in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
